Information about Arroyo de la Miel
It is one of the three areas that form the town of Benalmadena in Costa del Sol. It is less than 20 km from Malaga capital, less than 15 minutes to get Malaga by the Autovia del Mediterraneo(A7) (highway).
Arroyo de la Miel is known as a residential area in Benalmadena, with all the charm that a little town could get. It is well situated in the coast, very close to the sea and it has everything people like as parks, beach, libraries, animal shows, attraction park, shops, restaurants, supermarkets, and more!
The train from here runs from Malaga centre to Fuengirola via the airport. It stops at Arroyo on the hour and half hour. Fuengirola is just seven minutes away and Torremolinos only five minutes away by train. There is a regular bus service to Benalmadena Pueblo, Mijas, Fuengirola, Malaga and Marbella.
The cable cars (telecabinas) link Arroyo de la Miel with the peak of the Carramolo mountain, and from here, on a clear day, one can see right across to Africa.
Green spaces in the town
Parque de La Paloma (in Av. Federico Garcia Lorca): with more than 200.000 squared meters, is the biggest park in this town, where there is a big lake where live ducks, turtles, pelicans and gulls. We can also find in the highest part of the park other kind of animals as birds, rabbits, peacocks, goats, deers and ostriches. In this park there is a place for Cactus where we can enjoy 2000 of them of 450 different ones.
Parque de los árboles (in Av. Federico García Lorca, corner Av. Gamonal): situated in front of Parque de la Paloma, this green area has a big number of different trees with the name of every one. Parque Mare Nostrum (in Av. Mare Nostrum): it is a green area with flowing rivers and artificial lakes, where the small paths and wooden bridges let you walk in a peaceful atmosphere.
Parque La Miel (in Tivoli esplanade): this park is situated in a hillside from where you can get a panoramic view of the town. Green area in the mountains: Parque periurbano de Calamorro: all the Sierra de Calamorro from the 300 spot height, was declared as a natural environment avoiding construction in that area and keeping the sense of natural environment to enjoy the paths and different routes designed for trekking lovers. International library situated in Parque de La Paloma.
Tivoli World in Benalmadena
The show and amusement park of the Costa del Sol. It is the biggest amusement park on the Coast, which offers lots of different rides plus musical shows for all ages, variety of foods in the park's many restaurants, and many more options make Tivoli World a must for all the family to visit.
